Introducing: Pleco
大家好！So yesterday night I was trying to download an app into my iPhone as per my younger sister's suggestion: Pleco, a Chinese Dictionary app that allows you to approach the Chinese language in various ways (pinyin pronunciation, traditional Chinese dictionary searching technique, google-translate style) and it's FREE! The App-Downloading Issue:
I was having trouble downloading it due to some reason or another (even while connected to a VPN), and I thought: great, how am I supposed to get this app now that I'm stuck in China, where I MUST have this app?
The solution I figured out (haven't tried it in different contexts, so I'm not sure if it'll work 100% of the time):
- Connect to a VPN on the laptop
- Download the app into iTunes
- Connect your iPhone/iPad to the laptop and transfer/install
